Happy Pride Month Everyone! I know this is a bit late but I figured I should still do one. This isn't a usual happy celebration post. If that's what you're expecting, this isn't it. This is a more serious, but still uplifting message.
I'm gonna be blunt, I know things suck right now no matter where you are in the world, especially as someone who's in the queer community or anyone who is "different" by the strict bullshit societal norms for that matter.
But I know I don't need to tell you that. You live that reality every fucking day like myself and everyone else... But I want to say one thing that I'm sure you've heard a hundred times over as well but it's true. Things WILL get better for us, all of us, I know they will.
Shit's scary and fucked up right now but please don't be afraid. Keep being authentically, un-apologetically yourself in every way you can, loud and proud. Don't listen to those who are "normal" and want you to fit into their little comfortable boxes or change yourself to be what they think you should be. Keep being different, keep proving that you're here to stay and that you are going nowhere. Stand your ground and love each other while having each others backs, we're all brothers/sisters/siblings in this mess together and we will survive.
This may seem like a random note but, the 77 in my name comes from one of my favorite games ever, Cyberpunk 2077. I'm bringing that up for a reason.
This message isn't just for the queer community, but any community or group of people that others hate or try to hurt simply for just existing. Whenever someone EVER fucking tries to beat you down or hurt you simply for being "different," or whatever dumb shit they wanna push. Whether it be homophobia/transphobia, racism/sexism or any other form of bigotry they wish to throw at you. Remember a quote from Johnny Silverhand out of context:
"Remember, you're better than them."
No matter how "different" or "strange" you are according to them, you will ALWAYS be better than a hateful person. ALWAYS.
So everyone, please stay strong, stay safe, and keep your heads held high and be proud of yourself no matter who you are. We will survive and we will see a brighter and happier future. Keep pushing forward. I love you all.
